Shady and Elias Bayter began their journey at El Vergel farm in 1995, with a focus initially on avocados. Facing a market downturn in 2006, Shady and Elias made the decision to transitioned to coffee, planting catimor, red, and yellow caturra varieties, and in 2016 ventured into the specialty coffee market.  With a focus on innovative processes, El Vergel blends technology and passion to enhance their community.

This decaffeinated coffee undergoes a meticulous process, starting with special fermentation utilizing naturally-derived ethyl acetate from Colombian-grown sugarcane to bind to the caffeine, resulting in a decaffeinated coffee (up to 0.1%) that retains all the quality and character of the original coffee.
