Founded by his grandparents who emigrated in the early 1990s, Leon has deep historical roots in Tanzania’s coffee industry.  With a focus initially on commodity coffees, the farm transitioned to specialty in the 2000s by revitalizing the plantation with high-quality varieties like Kent, SL28, Geisha, and Pacamara.  Their farming practices are meticulously designed to enhance coffee quality, leveraging the rich volcanic soil and optimal climate of Mount Oldeani.

Leon embodies the history and future of specialty coffee in northern Tanzania, employing innovative processing methods inspired by both traditional and modern techniques, while also focusing on environmental sustainability and robust social initiatives.
