Marceli Calderón Pacamara // Huila, Colombia
Salado Blanco is a town of about 11,000 people a few hours from Pitalito in southern Huila. The town’s main economy is coffee, as you could drive for hours in any direction and never lose sight of the plant. Here, our exporting partner has sourced exceptional multi-producer lot coffees of mostly Castillo and Catarra varieties, but as of recent has been looking to identify the work of individual producers within this network to showcase.
As a member of the Salado Blanco community, La Loma has been producing coffee for generations. Marceli Calderón, who recently took over production from her father, is a prime example of the remarkable quality that can be found here.
