Ginimao S-795 • Washed // Karnataka, India
Ginimao is produced by Steven Rebello, a second-generation coffee farmer and member of the KaadKaapi collective in Chikmagalur, Karnataka. The farm operates within a biodiversity preservation model that limits shade-tree cutting to non bird-nesting periods and permits the free movement of native wildlife across the property. This approach aligns with broader conservation efforts in the Western Ghats, a region under pressure from shifting trends toward high volume, full-sun cultivation.
This lot is 100% S-795, a cultivar developed in India through a cross between Kent and Liberica strains. It was selected for rust resistance, yield stability, and favorable cup quality. Although some of its resistance traits have diminished over time, it remains widely planted due to its reliable performance and clean profile.
