Before their life as coffee growers, Luis and his wife Vanessa were both working as dentists. Their passion for coffee was born from a desire to merge science, dedication, and human sensitivity into a product that embodies excellence and authenticity.  Together, they built Aurum Coffee to share not only remarkable coffees, but also to tell the story of their land, the work of local farmers, and the hope of a new generation of coffee growers.

Five minutes from Vilcabamba — known affectionately as the Valley of Eternal Youth — Aurum sits among nitrogen-rich soils, diverse native shade trees, and pristine mineral rich mountain water flowing from Podocarpus National Park. Cool nights and mild days slow cherry maturation, allowing sugars, nutrients, and aromatic compounds to develop more fully.
