Three Khuns Anaerobic Natural // Hopong, Myanmar
Three Khuns is a producer collective within the Indigo Mountain Co-op in Hopong, led by Pa-O members (an ethnic group within Shan State) and founded by members Khun Kyaw Min Htike, Khun Tun Lin, and Khun Kyaw Thein. Now over 14 members, this group collects cherry from select farms across Hopong, Pin Laung, Taunggyi, Hse Hsaing, and Loilem, all within the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone. They provide quality control, agronomy education, and the technical build-out of processing infrastructure, with an emphasis on clean processing technique.
This is our fourth year working with the Indigo Mountain Cooperative, who established in 2017 to provide access for farmers in the region to transition crop from poppy toward specialty coffee. This ensures more sustainable and safer futures for the people within the villages.
